FAQ

  • Each Level of the app is built with distinct Learning Plans which contain separate Language Domains, a section for adding practical learned expressions, and an area to document Life Routines that you complete in your area of language learning.

  • Every Learning Plan has distinct Language Domains that you are seeking to master. In Level 1, all those Language Domains are defined by the app and give you a general introduction to everyday, conversational language. In Level 2, all your Language Domains are based on Life Routines and Cultural experiences from Level 1. You will learn how to describe those experiences in detail and master different tenses.

  • In each Learning Plan, you will complete “Life Routines” where you document in photos and text an experience in the area you are living. Life Routines are organized by 12 different Cultural Areas: Transportation, Work, Economics, Religion, Education & Knowledge, Art & Entertainment, Agriculture & Food, Health & Human Biology, Social Organization, Physical Environment, Clothing & Adornment, and Tools & Technology.

  • Unlike other language learning apps, Immerse is based on a program for learning language when you are immersed inside the geographic area of your language acquisition. You should arrange regular times to meet with your Language Helper. Each time, you will need to have content material prepared to learn with them. You can add content by taking photos of the things around you or finding photos on the internet.

How to Share Resources with Others

In the Immerse App, content (or “resources”) are the building blocks that allow you to learn and work with your native language helper. Taking photos, entering labels, and creating recordings can be a lot of work. The app allows sharing of these resources to help your whole family, class, or team speed up your learning.

Add a Member to your Team

  1. Select the hamburger menu in the upper right corner of the app screen. This menu appears on the “Home” screen and the “Library” screen.

  2. Under “My Team”, click “Add Member” and then enter their 4-digit member code into the app.

  3. Once the number is entered, that Member will appear underneath “My Team”.

Share a Language Domain

  1. In the Home screen, slide one of the Language Domains (a grouping of content or resources) to the left.

  2. Select the Share icon from the revealed menu.

  3. Select the Team Member to receive the new content.

Adding a Shared Language Domain to your Learning Plan

  1. Once a Team Member has shared resources with you, those resources show up in the Library in the Shared tab.

  2. Select the Language Domain(s) you want to add to your Home page. If you already have a Language Domain with that label, this will replace that content with the new, shared content.
